Purpose

The expert's core message or methodology

Core Argument

A provocative but defensible concept.

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” — The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho)

Core Methodology

An original framework or formula.

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen Covey)

Positioning

Value Proposition

What makes the core message or methodology distinctive and transformative?

Core Audience

Whose problem is the expert solving with their core message?

Outcomes

What is the transformation the expert is promising?

What is the ROI the expert is seeking? (sales, conversions, speaking gigs, etc.)

Content-Creator Archetype

Guest

Host

Established

Columnist

A regular slot in someone else's publication (columnist, podcast, and (arguably) Substack and LinkedIn newsletters)

Publisher Goal

A platform of their own, with full creative and business control (books, newsletter publication, thought leadership blog)

Emerging

Contributor

Occasional pieces in someone else's publication (op-eds, reviews, journal articles)

Influencer

Publishing on their own platforms (social media, or community)

The goal is Publisher, while staying active in all four. Influencer drives reach; Guest roles deliver credibility.

Content Portfolio Mix

Weak Bond

Strong Bond

Substantive

Authority

Books, journal articles, courses (these drive credibility and trust)

Anchor Core

An owned newsletter, periodic reports (these deepen trust and drive conversions)

Brief

Access

Social posts (expand reach, initiate the relationship)

Affinity

Community, chat, webinars (deepen the relationship)

Strong Bond means the expert has a more direct relationship with the audience/follower, and usually has their emails. A newsletter on LinkedIn is still Weak (limited access to audience data).

Performance

Reach

Measures audience size

How many people the work can reach: followers, readers, and subscribers, by platform.

Engagement

Measures audience trust

Whether people value the work enough to respond: replies, shares, comments, citations.

Conversion

Measures content marketing results

Whether trust turns into action: book sales, enrollments, speaking, clients.

The PubSavvy Core KPI

Inbox Trust

Measures the strength of the media brand as a whole

Inbox Trust = Newsletter Metrics ÷ Total Portfolio Metrics

Newsletter reach and engagement, measured against the reach and engagement of the whole portfolio. The newsletter is the expert's most personal and trusted channel, so a portfolio mix that works moves more of its audience into the inbox.

Formula in development

AI-Enabled Publishing Workflows

Humans set the direction and draft the content. AI supports (and accelerates) research, transcription, sourcing, proofreading, fact-checking, and performance tracking.

Purpose

Analyze talks, papers, and transcripts for the arguments the expert returns to most.

Positioning

Scan competing voices; cluster the questions the audience actually asks.

Portfolio

Inventory every asset across channels and flag the empty cells.

Process

Transcribe talks into research notes; automate distribution from one source.

Performance

Pull counts into one sheet monthly; flag outliers for an editor to act on.

Critical Next Moves / Audits

The content mix audit

What missing content type could enhance the value, reach, or impact of all the others? And boost the PubSavvy Core KPI Number?

The content-creator archetype audit

Where is the creator weakest: on credibility? Or reach?

The publishing workflow audit

Where can AI boost efficiency without replacing human creativity, judgment, or accountability?
